Easter Sunday is not just celebrating the victory and redemption of the dead but it is also the redemption and victory of the living. Redemption comes due to God’s message “to take up His Cross and follow Me” and of mercy and His forgiveness. Thus man strives to work and sacrifices not only for himself but also for others to help those in need so that he can live in the room prepared in “My Father’s House”. Easter stresses the importance of forgiving hurts and offenses suffered, and God’s forgiveness to the forgiver.
Easter in another sense is the victory of life reclaimed from the jaws of death. A victory of joy over sorrow, of hope over despair and love over hate, it is the victory of life’s bright sunshine over dark clouds of pessimism, of life’s tenacity to stand up and fight hopelessness and defeat. It is the coming of spring after our winter of discontent.
Easter is a rebirth of life from its emptiness to a purposeful one in order to leave footprints on the sands of time. So that another desert traveler upon seeing them, shall take heart again.
Happy Easter to All!.
