Lady Local Legislators in the Philippines to converge in Bohol
The members of the Lady Local Legislators League of our country or Four-L Philippines are slated to converge in the Province of Bohol on October 28-30 this year for its Visayas Area Conference.
Bohol Board Member Aster Apalisok-Piollo, who is one of the members of the Board of Directors of the said group and the conference convener, disclosed that around one hundred lady legislators from all over the country are expected to visit the island province for the said conference tagging the theme, “Transformational Leadership”. She said that lady vice governors, board members, vice mayors and councilors are among the participants to the said conference.
The visiting lady legislators will be housed at Bohol Plaza Resort in Dauis town during the entire conference days. However, the said group will also visit Bohol’s tourist destinations like the Chocolate Hills, the Loboc River, Panglao beaches and other important historical and cultural destinations in the province.
As a host province, Board Member Piollo said that she accepted the challenge of hosting because it will be an opportune time to promote Bohol’s tourism industry as an economic driver in province while at the same time it will highlight the efforts and brand of governance and leadership our local leaders, headed by Governor Erico Aumentado, have institutionalized and put in play. The transformation of Bohol is something that we should be proud of, Piollo added. On the first day of the conference, Bohol Governor Erico Aumentado will instill into the minds of the participants the secret of Bohol’s progress with tourism and agriculture as economic drivers.
Heading the delegation to attend the said gathering is Dagupan City Councilor Farah Decano who is the National President of the said league while Senator Loren Legarda and Batangas Governor Vilma Santos-Recto are also in the list of invited speakers among others. Siquijor Board Member Emily Gum-os is the co-convener of the said conference. |
